We want to express our deepest gratitude to all the incredible carers who looked after Maureen Kerr, our mum. Your role is undeniably tough – both emotionally and physically. Not only are you tending to your patients’ physical needs, but you’re also striving to provide emotional support, all within the very limited time you have due to the number of people you need to care for. Yet, you never let that diminish the quality of care you gave to Maureen. You treated her with such dignity, kindness, and respect, and it truly meant the world to us.
Not only did you care for Maureen, but you were also a pillar of support for our entire family during such a challenging time. Your warmth, empathy, and understanding helped us navigate the emotional journey of saying goodbye to someone so dear to us.
And it was only because of your hard work and dedication, Maureen was able to return home – the place she wished to be in her final moments. It meant everything to her and to us that she could spend her last days in familiar surroundings, passing peacefully with her daughter by her side.
The work you do is nothing short of heroic. You give so much of yourselves to others, even in the face of immense challenges. We cannot thank you enough for the difference you made in Maureen’s life and ours. You will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we will always remember the profound impact you had during such an important chapter of our lives.
